If Finch didn’t decide to have a stupid ass moral and let Shaw or John kill the only guy who was in position to make Samaritan operative we wouldn’t be in this shit position wouldn’t we? You should have listened to the Machine. If only Root was here, we wouldn’t be in this shit situation.

I’m just so angry at Finch for not trusting his own creation. I mean it’s the chore of his character, it would be completely out of character for him to do otherwise, it would fuck up the whole show narrative to have him deciding suddenly to kill a man. His whole narrative arc revolves around him and his complicated relationship with the Machine and how he created her as a closed system so it’s not into the wrong hands, being it his own hands. And it takes the whole show for him to learn and trust her, which is heartbreaking because she always have protected him, he even had to teach her not to, but he does not protect her. He protects her existence as a secret but not really her, because she’s not an intelligence to him. And it takes the whole Samaritan storyline for him to understand her and finally protect her (and he’s not even the one dying for her).

So yes I totally love and understand his decision. This show is so well crafted and all the characters decisions just always fit their personal moral and arc but also the storyline.

I mean speaking of the storyline, I even understand and know that Root had to die, it just makes sense, but not that stupidly. But anyway we’ll come to that when I am into S5 shall we.

The thing is, I understand all the decisions I understand them even better watching it a second time. Now as a viewer, loving my blorbos, knowing what’s coming I am extremely pissed because aaargghhh I don’t want them to suffer their bad decisions. Yes I do, this is why I only like shows that makes me want to scream for the whole night lmao

Honestly I think I don’t remember the whole Vigilance plot because it’s been so entwined with the course against Samaritan activation plot, and that plot took over pretty quickly to me.
